<p>I recently met 2 kids who applied to this school as their safety. They both decided to go and think this school is fabulous. One is a female who had a 3.8 GPA (all AP or honors classes) The other is a male with around a 3.2 GPA (but I believe he had higher test scores)Does anyone know anything about this school and how it stacks up against other state schools in SC??</p>
<p>Party school. Subpar. Below USC-Columbia, Clemson, CofC, and the privates (Furman, Wofford, etc.).</p>
<p>I just checked their web site, and about half of undergraduates are from out of state.</p>
<p>What is the attraction for all the out of state students?</p>
<p>10 miles from Myrtle Beach, plus the golf management program that you’d expect, given the local industry.</p>
<p>They also have the largest undergrad Marine Science program on the East Coast; when s visited and talked to a marine science prof at USC Columbia, he said that the reputations of the marine science program at both schools was a big draw for OOS kids.</p>
<p>I was also surprised at the large number of out of state kids. I had heard that they had a very strong bio program. The cost is also reasonable and it’s in a great location.</p>
