CoE Grade Deflation?

I’ve heard that the CoE practices grade deflation; a student on a Cornell panel we attended recently said that one of his courses was curved to a C+, for instance. Does anyone here have experience with Cornell’s CoE, who could speak to this?

Yes, CoE practices grade deflation. I was recently highlighted in the Cornell Daily Sun.

<a href=“OH | Grade Inflation at Cornell | The Cornell Daily Sun”>http://cornellsun.com/blog/2014/03/03/oh-grade-inflation-at-cornell/

As far as I’m concerned grade deflation in Cornell itself is a myth. Most courses in CoE are curved to a B+/B, so I really do not see any grade deflation. It is also very rare for any course to be curved to a C+ or lower, and if there is any such course, many people would avoid it.
