I tried a sample of Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbuck’s today. I loved it! I always thought it sounded gross, but it was lovely, sort of a spicy gingerbread taste to me. I will be getting a full-sized one soon.

Around the holidays, I like Starbucks hot apple cider with caramel; it tastes like Christmas to me. Other than that, give me a good hot fresh cuppa joe, straight up – Peet’s when I can get it.

You guys must be skinny minnies. I can’t afford all the calories in those yummy drinks. But I do love them. The pumpkin spice latte, the caramel cider, just about any mocha…(drools on keyboard here).

By no means skinny minnie! It’s just a once a week or every other week occasion for me at the most. One drink, one hour with a friend (or two), one comfy coffee shop - it’s a simple guilty pleasure!

When it’s hot I love ice coffee from Dunkin Donuts with just cream, no sweetener. When it’s cold I love hot coffee from Dunkin Donuts with just cream, no sweetener. I like the flavor. I like the caffeine kick. And I really like the price. Oh, and when I’m having a bad day I like to add an apple fritter.

^^LOL, sewhappy I just reread your post twice. I sat here wondering how one would have an iced coffee, but having it served hot!! Then I realized that you meant that when it is hot weather, you enjoy ice coffee.

Okay, I need some coffee to get my brain in gear!

^ Dunkin Donuts are huge in my area. There’s 4 in my town alone, and the drive through lines are often into the street. The lone Starbucks never has a line, and well, never seems to have many customers, period.

Not being a coffee drinker, I don’t go there frequently (the tea is ‘meh’). My husband and I speculate they must put crack in the coffee, or else why would there be such long lines at all times of the day?

Nope. I am neither skinny nor minnie. Lately, though, with 60-hour weeks plus buying a house (which is wonderfully fantabulous and we’re all moved in, by the by) plus studying for my licensure exam in October, any semblance of positive nutrition has gone by the wayside and I’m just indulging with reckless abandon.

The cider is the gateway drug. Then you end up switching to chai. Then you’re hooked.

aibarr, you make me laugh! AND I needed it this morning. Gateway drug…

sewhappy you are killing me. I need a DD and the apple fritter now.

In the summer, I love a large black DD iced coffee (one is on my desk right now). It will see me through the morning, and DD brews so frequently that there’s never a bitter taste (though I can’t do black hot coffee, even there).

When I am overheated and/or exhausted, nothing brings me back like a DD Coollata - although, being neither skinny nor mini myself, I try to limit them to only a few each year.

My favorite hot coffee anywhere is at the Wawa in Williamsburg, VA. Always fresh, hotter than hot, and keeps me on my feet. How I would hate to live in a world without caffeine.

I don’t go to coffee shops that much- but being in Seattle that is probably more than I would in other parts of the country.

I get a double tall latte as my standard drink. Our neighborhood shop uses Stumptown Coffee & I forgot what kind of chai, but it is locally made & pretty good.

I think the drip coffee @ Starbucks is actually much better than their espresso, although I admit I do get a Frappechino occasionally & I have used their $2 off coupons to get another coffee the same day.

I also admit that I * like* eggnog lattes although it sounds kinda disgusting and I have no idea how many calories are in it.
:o

My H’s absolute favorite is the “Turbo Joe” we get at rest stops on our frequent trips up and down the Garden State Parkway. He prefers it black, but he’s willing to doctor it up if we’re sharing one in the car.

My favorite is just plain at our office. I like to add tons of unsweetened baking cocoa(Ghirardelli), turmeric and honey. Have it every morning. Others that I have ever tried at any place are way too sweet or too fat for my taste and they lack bitter taste of coffee.

When I want a special treat, I get a chai latte but only when it’s cold outside. When I have coffee out, it’s usually just a regular at Tim Horton’s (which is Canadian but has moved into some northern states). At home, although we have a Keurig, bodum, a cappucino maker and a regular drip coffeemaker, I am a coffee heathen and drink instant. My H, who loves his coffee strong and black, thinks I’m nuts.

That sounds yummy. Here they’re just normal size.

I would not call anybody nuts because of preference of coffee drink, but I cannot drink instant, I’d rather have a glass of cold water, it tastes better.

I don’t go to DD. The attitude at our local DD’s is generally to treat the customers with as little “nice” as possible. And if you back that up with messing up orders routinely, you go elsewhere. So… I go to Starbucks.

I love pumpkin spice anything. My usual order is a Vanilla Cafe Frap Light with one extra shot of coffee. I can substitute pumpkins spice in season. I usually get 1-2 a month, esp med day when it is hot in south FL. Mornings when I might get a cup on the way to work instead of waiting until I get there, I get a Skinny Vanilla Latte.

I will maybe get one gingerbread or one other chirstmas coffee once a year.

At my office I splurge and order 4 8oz bags of Boca Java a month. They roast the beans the day before they ship them, and I have a coffee maker at work that grinds and brews. We are not huge coffee drinkers, and 2 lbs usually lasts a month. It is one of my few work splurges. I normally drink my coffee black. No sugar and no cream. So I like a good coffee. And not flavored coffees, just good coffee.

All these flavored drinks are too sweet for me, which is strange because I have a sweet tooth. Maybe it’s because I learned to make real Indian chai from scratch, and nothing beats that! It’s sweet too, but doesn’t make my teeth hurt like the Starbucks chai.

“All these flavored drinks are too sweet for me, which is strange because I have a sweet tooth.”

I have discovered the same. So, I do mine myself using honey to my taste. I also love sweets, but they have to be not so sweet, like very dark chocolate (85% cocoa) - it is my breakfast every day.

alwaysamom,

I’m a closet instant coffee drinker. I like Folgers crystals! Topped off by . . . canned evaporated milk. Completely makes my husband gag.
