Cold remedies

I think H is getting a cold- he was up all night coughing, which means it is only a matter of time before I get it.
I have used Yin Chiao before with excellent results, but can’t find my bottle ( I think I took it up to D)
But it works so well it is scary ( makes me think there must be something toxic in it- even though I understand most of the ingredients)

Was wondering what others use when they get a cold or flu when you can’t take time off to sleep all day ( assuming you aren’t sneezing on everyone)

Usually when we feel a cold coming on we are helped by prescription strength allergy medicine. The heavy late summer rains are apparently giving us a fall allergy season to break all records. Allergies can cause mucous which can lead to infection, fever and misery. So your DH may need an antibiotic already but if not then he might be able to start on a good allergy medicine.

Or maybe it really is the common cold. I think sleeping lots of hours under lots of blankets works bets but not always possible.

We have been having a lot of rain- I will suggest he take some benadryl maybe at night if I can’t find any more yin chiao. ( just remembered there is an herbal apothecary in our neighborhood- so I don’t have to make him an appt!)

I don’t think he has an infection- although he has been prone to sinus infections/cluster headaches in the past. ( knock on wood)

For clearing out mucus, DD and other singers use a neti pot. If the nasal passages are super clogged, it doesn’t work as she found out the hard way.
