Cold scores v. preparation?

On my June SAT I I got 760 CR, 660 Math and 660 Writing… 2080 total. That’s with absolutely zero preparation; as an international student I didn’t know that the SAT existed before a friend told me to test as a standby…

So basically, my question is: given these cold scores, how much am I likely to be able to improve with preparation?

Also, since the scores are quite unbalanced… high CR, low Math+Writing… how is that going to be interpreted by colleges, especially arts and humanities oriented ones?

You should prep and take it again. You can definitely keep the high CR, but if it goes down, remember that they superscore (take the best individual scores and put them together). Math can go up a lot with prep, and writing can too. It really depends on the prompt for the essay, though, so don’t worry too much about the essay.

You could probably get up to a 2200 or better with serious prep.
