Do you utilize this supplement? How has it helped you? Do you look and feel better? What brand do you use? Has anyone tried Vital Proteins Collage Peptide? If so what flavor did you use?
I am just trying to learn more about this and I’m wondering if this is something I should consider taking.
I do use it every morning in my coffee. It is unflavored, so it is not unpleasant. The one I use is from SR Sport Research. I think my skin looks/feel better. My nails are stronger. I started using it based on my masseuse’s recommendation. She is in her 30s and she is taking it everyday.
I do it occasionally even though there is not much scientific evidence it helps (if taken in moderation, it does not hurt). Do not remember the brand off the top of my head. It is collagen hydrolysate powder (amino acids and maybe short peptides). Tasteless and dissolves completely. I keep thinking I need to ask my friend to run a mass spec on it.
I put collagen powder in my coffee every day. It has definitely made my nails stronger, I can tell. I can actually feel that they are harder. So I’m assuming it must be doing something for my hair too, and hopefully my skin. Wish I could see a difference with my skin, but I haven’t stopped using it to see if I can tell a difference.
I am reading that there are three types of collagen and that it is important to have all three. Fish, poultry, and beef.
I noticed a lot of people mention putting it in coffee. I wonder if there is a ranking based on quality.
Bumping this up. Any updates on the benefits?
My dermatologist suggested that I might want to start taking collagen peptides. Any benefit of taking the powder versus a pill?
Thanks @BunsenBurner. I know nothing about them and will need to do some research. The Dr just mentioned it at the end of my visit when I asked a question about my arms easily bruising and bleeding. I just thought a pill would be easy versus mixing something in a drink. I like my coffee black and otherwise the only thing I drink is water.
Thanks. Bought a powder today at Whole Foods. Unflavored and just added it to a cup of tea. I’ll give it a try. I saw individual packets and considered it but the loose powder was less expensive and I think I’ll mainly drink it at home.
