College Admissions Help!

Hello!
This is the fourth and final time I took the ACT (June). I have the following:
English: 33
Math: 36
Reading: 20!!!!!!!!!! :(
Science: 33
Composite: 31
I have received a 29, 24, and a 27 on the Reading subsection before....

I am in many AP,honors, etc classes... I have a 4.1 GPA bc our school doesn't weight honors classes, but only AP classes.

I am soo freaked out that Univ of Mich-Ann Arbor, Univ of Chicago, Princeton, and NYU will all think I cannot read. Will I still get into these schools?

What were the other scores on the test where reading was a 29 for you?

well i had a 29 in math, 27 in english, 28 in science.... overall a composite of 28. It was my first time.

You could send that score as well as your most recent one. The college may look at your highest score in each section.

Another thing you could do is take the Literature SATII, which is basically reading comprehension. This is only if you think you can do well (study hard if you have to), and a good score on that would show them that you can read.

Thanks sooo much! I should look into the SAT 2 test.... besides that, is there a chance i could still get into U of M - ann arbor?

Other possibilities: If you think the 20 is due to a scoring error, you could pay to have the ACT hand score your test. (It seems odd that you would have a 20 in one section given your high scores in the other sections, including your 33 in English). You could also search CC for the threads about which schools Superscore the ACT. You might be tired of standardized tests, but you could consider taking the SAT I. Princeton requires two SAT II exams (subject tests) so that would take up one of the three fall SAT dates (October, November and December), but you could take the SAT I on one of the remaining dates. Sick though you may be of taking exams, if it makes the difference between being admitted or not, it might be worth it. Good luck!

well my parents are now telling me to go ahead and get the thing re-scored, and I hope the ACT organization screwed up :/ Besides that... I'm not in the mood to study for the SAT 1. I think I'll do two SAT 2 subject tests and then I will start college apps. I just want to thank all of you that have taken the time to give me suggestions and your help ;)
