College admissions reflection + advice I learned along the way (Penn '15)

Sorry for the delayed replies. My inbox has been flooded as of late. But I’m glad to be of help!

For those asking for my stats, I updated my stats on my CC profile. But before you go there, here’s 3 things I’d like to address:

<li>I’m 100% Chinese: born in China, first-gen immigrant, moved to US in 4th grade, etc. But I self-studied German and got an 800 on the SAT II. If I ever came close to a hook, that would probably be it. (And if you’re wondering why German - well, my middle school crush/high school boyfriend was German…which enough motivation for me )</li>
<li>Notice the lack of explicit leadership titles and community service. I never did community service in high school because I didn’t have time. But there are MANY other ways to show leadership and community service besides being president of the Key Club.</li>
<li>Finally, to quote CC:

Thus we urge you to keep in mind that admission committees–even at the most selective schools–are seeking a diverse student body and are able to recognize a range of strengths. Instead, we encourage you to use these Stats Profiles to exchange information, insights, and questions in a supportive and helpful way.
