college advice

GPA: 4.0
SAT:2180 (will retake, aiming for a 50 point improvement)
graduating among top 3 out of a highly competitive class of around 150

well i am a canadian, planning to study both engineering and business,
and am going to apply for financial aid.

id prefer a relatively large university where there is a blend of high intellectuality and good social life, an intellectual environment where its still okay to have fun

the only place that im sure that i am going to apply to is upenn (jerome fisher), so could you guys please suggest some colleges that you think might be a good match

Brown sounds perfect

i read somewhere that brown is quite stingy with fin aid, could someone confirm/challenge that?

Engineering and business? Are you sure you can actually do that? At most schools engineering has its own requirements separate from Arts and Sciences and Business schools. It’s tough for most engineers to double major, but especially in business, where there are pretty much no overlaps.

People like to say they’ll triple major and like to list off the degrees they want to earn in the future, but once you actually get to college you’re going to reconsider.

i see what youre saying, but thing is im stuck in the right in the middle, aspects of both engineering and business are attractive to me and i probably wont know which one to carve a career out of until ive studied them both :s very confused

to me, the jerome fisher programme at upenn sounds perfect, are there any other universities which offer similar initiatives?
