I have a contemporary math class under my belt from when I got my Associate of Arts degree. It transferred to Tarleton as a core math, and Tarleton will actually allow the contemporary math to be used as a a prerequisite for Elementary Stats for Behavior Science (though I have to get an override through my advisor). I’ve been told that this stats class is easier than a regular stats class. … Anyway, It’s been nearly 40 years since I actually have taken an algebra class. I can take it at the community college if I desire, but as it is not an absolute requirement for my degree at the 4-year, I don’t HAVE to. … But after all these years, would it be better for me to take that algebra class anyway, just for myself so I can be better prepared for the stats class, or am I wasting time/money on an unnecessary class that will add 3 random elective hours to my degree?
