College Board registration issue with last name

It seems there is a limit of 15 characters for last name. Has anyone faced this issue before? Is there any issue if last name does not fully match with name registeted in your high school?

Can you suggest best forum to post this?

No forum. Pick up the phone and call them on Monday and get a real answer.

I did. They just limit name to 15 chars. I would like to hear if anyone went through this experience and how it impacts college applications.

That is interesting. Maybe because it is alphabetical truncation does not matter, as they know who you are.

How do they know? Most college software programs probably use last name to search or match.

If your actual name is “John Patrick Zxcvbnmasdfghjklqwertyuio” then it is clear that “John P. Zxcvbnmasdfghjk” is you. Search engines will match the first 15 characters just fine.

Makes sense.

Just for future reference, we are having issues with name from SAT scores and working with each school to get the correct match of name. I wish College Board changes their system to address this limitation.
