Hi my name is Sunshine.
…yeah its my real name. I play soccer, live in Las Vegas and have received a full ride to ND. I’m not trying to brag I just wanted to see if any student athlete preferably of my same or similar situation would be able to tell me about their transition from a warm state to a cold. How college is different considering the busier schedule, rooming, etc. Thank you in advance for your help. Also, I don’t know how but I’m sure someone will say something mean so let me take a moment and say … Don’t.

Hopefully someone with experience specific to your situation will be able to give advice. I will speak to the weather: Indiana does not experience the same level of bitter cold that you will find in other parts of the country, but it is colder than LV. The key is to dress for the elements and not allow them to interfere too much with your lifestyle. Wait to purchase winter gear until after you arrive at school: the stores will be better stocked and you may be able to get some things through the university.

Good luck!

Thanks for replying! I never really thought of waiting to buy my winter gear so you probably just saved me a lot of money.
