I’ve never had so much homework in my life.
I ended up doing a lot better on my Geology final than I expected, and my final grade will come out to (hopefully) a 3.7!
Despite spring quarter starting next week, I haven’t actually figured out exactly what I want to take yet. Here’s my preliminary schedule:
- Forests and Society
- Fisheries Management
- Intro to Russian Lit
I’m trying to get into this sustainability studio class that would have us develop a walking tour of nearby scenic areas as well as an animal psychology research class, but they’re both full.
And yay @TiredQuibbler for another prospective transfer! I’m just waiting on the official nod from one school, but I guess I’m not in any hurry to leave my current one. Ditto on the packed lecture halls, though.
@preamble1776 I’m also looking at graduating Spring 2017. Hooray for graduating early!
My schedule for Fall is pretty set in stone because of my major. I’m taking:
Phonetics
Language Development
Hearing & Hearing Disorders
Anatomy and Physiology of Speech Production
Have you guys chosen housing for next year yet? It’s our housing week so it’s a bit crazy. I had a really bad lottery number, but ended up getting pulled in to a really good suite. I’m a bit sad not to be living in the castle though
@Coriander23 - Your transfer is guaranteed, right? (Bar extenuating circumstances like a sub 2.0 GPA or an axe murder conviction lol)
I just finished Spring Break and I feel like I need another vacation already.
Hahaha, yes it is! I just have to keep up my GPA and take certain classes—once I’ve completed those, I have free reign over the rest of my schedule. Just no flunking anything or :-t (they really do have emoticons for everything, don’t they)
I’m in the middle of my break and want to stow the rest of it away to cash in on later. Also, senior member! Who knew when I joined last year that I’d be in it for the long haul…
Heyeveryone, I’m also looking to transfer. If i get accepted I’ll be commuting next semester and will only be paying about 2000 out of pocket. The school I’m looking at has a birth thru sixth grade certification which, in New York is practically unheard of
Hey look! @Coriander23, you got the bars removed off your tar!
Haha I finally did! I earned my second pair of stripes for suggesting that someone’s posterior ached, but apparently this herb is getting weeded out of the garden if it happens again.
@Jazzii - I’ve honestly come to enjoy commuting. I like having two spheres of life - academic/social life during the day and then I get to come home at night to my own (queen sized) bed, lol.
@preamble1776 So are you confirmed C/O 2017 now?
@Vctory - Yes. (do I have to leave the thread now?) I was considering spacing out my semesters but I can’t really justify all the free time that 12 credit hours allows for (because it feels like a huge difference) – as for graduate school, I’m going to take time off between undergrad and law school (ideally to study for the LSAT and “do life”) - I’m a dual citizen of Ireland and the US so I was thinking of moving to Ireland for a year and working/living in Dublin.
if you graduate a semester early, would that still count as c/o 2018? lol
That makes sense!
I’m probably going to be taking between 12-14 credits per semester the rest of college. I’d also like to take a year off between undergrad and graduate school to just travel the world—honestly, I kind of want to do that now.
And hey, we’re all 2018’ers at heart!
I will be taking 18 or more credits for another 3 years. There’s just too many extra requirements and too many classes I want to take.
Paying attention to college admissions because my girlfriend’s a HS senior, but more high-stats kids than usual are being rejected from middle school’s. Friend who’s valedictorian with a 4.0/2390/13 AP’s and some great EC’s just got the ding at Hopkins. So glad we’re done with that process
@Vctory - Harvard’s acceptance rate drops every year; last year, RD was 3% - I’m curious to see how low it’ll be for this cycle and I’m even more curious to see just what type of students manage to get in.
My International Relations professor emailed me to say that out of my class of 150 students, I was the only one to receive a 100% on the midterm exam. To make things even better, a certain US President who’s name rhymes with Oyama is coming to campus on Monday so all classes are canceled.
I mean this with full sincerity - #ThanksObama
No fair!
Obama talked on my campus at the beginning of this semester, and we still had class! Totally jealous.
