College Class of 2017

Why do you say that, Descuff?

The only thing annoying about my car isn’t even my car’s fault: Parking on campus in ridiculous. The lot I park in is extremely competitive. Other than that I love being able to drive down to wherever I want whenever I want.

@Zombie Free time? What is that? I have so much homework and tests that most of my time is taken up from sleeping, eating, homework, and studying.

I should study, but I really don’t want to. I just signed up to be a research assistant for one of my professors too, there is no way that is possible lol.

That’s just it parking are so far from the actual buildings. I might as well buy a bike or longboard. But if I lived in a frat or apartment then it would actually be useful.

And I feeling the same as zombie. I need to study but I am seriously not in the mood. I feel so behind yet I have to remind myself that I’m actually on the right track

And I have a large amount of free time.

There are a couple dozen people who bike and longboard on campus. You only notice it because they’re visible. Most people just walk. I mean, you can walk from one end of campus to the other in 10 minutes. And that’s without even trying.

Yeah, I just signed up for a club today and am going to get in touch with one of the competition leaders. Pretty excited! :D

@Descuff Oh, I see. I don’t drive to my classes. That’s take 30 minutes longer than necessary.

My university says you can walk to the other side of campus in 15 minutes but that is a damn lie.

My say 20 minutes. They don’t account for backpack weight, other students, bikers in the way, crossing the street, actually getting into the buildings, etc.

My school have a,large number of bikers and skate/longboarders. You honestly can never miss either one

Nope. Nope. Can’t miss them here either. It’s Florida. There will be long boarders. :p

My campus is really small I guess…

Niquii, I’m in Indiana (middle of nowhere.) Longboarders like,me just popped up

(on the side note)Does anyone know how I can stop getting notifications for a thread??

I dont wana be a pessimist but college isnt as awesome as I imagine. Im already counting down the weeks til the semester is over!

Are you talking about CC app on phone? Well notifications only come up for your “subscribed” threads. So just unsubscribed from those thread.

@foreIN why don’t you like it?

@Fore You can also go into your personal setting to have it so you can only manually subscribe to threads.

College isn’t all fun and games. It’s like high school in some ways. College is…college I guess. Still waiting for that moment when I feel like these will be the best four years of my life.

Yeah keep waiting. I honestly don’t think that moment will ever come lol. I’m so stressed out all the time. Tonight I’m going to have to actually…actually…oh I can’t even bare to say it! I have to actually…study…

I know! Worry not for me, for I will make it through to bitter’s end!!

Ok guys you both need a reality check. Remember those fancy graph and charts about free time and studying and whatever. 2 hours for each hours in class. Sooo, if you have 3 hours of class, you should have 9 hours to study. Now that is only for that day. You have no classes on weekend so you should do homework or study 20 minutes for every one of your classes

Oh, sweet! I only have to study for two hours for every hour of my class? It’s so great to know that this saying works for every class, major, and student out there!

@Zombie I will keep waiting. I think it’ll happen in my second or third year. I have some big things planned and I’m pretty psyched for what is to come.

so i did my first homework assignment as a college student last night. well it’s not really my first since i was in college last year but im pretending to be like you guys where everything is my your college-first. it wasn’t so bad. i even sort of liked it but it did take many hours. so i did that and then i ALMOST made it to school but decided at the last minute that, no, i just stayed up all night doing my homework, im giving myself a day off, so i went to sleep at 7:30. little did my mom know that i skipped since i was up when she was got up at 6 and when she left at 7, by all appearances LOOKING like i was going. but nope, soon after she left i found the couch and my mind found rest.

That’s RIGHT NIQUII! No matter what is your course load, major or classes are you must study TWO hours per hour.

But seriously 2 hours of studying for each hour of class would kill me more than not studying. Realistically I only study as much as needed for the day.

BTW, I just have my first college exam. For my Calculus I class. Well, it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. 10 problems, 1 hours to complete. If I studied real hard I would had been done in 5-10 minutes. But overall it took me 30 minutes about and I got to leave early. I took my time but I will need to study more next time. Right now I need to dear with this stupid online homework that keep failing people at the last minute.

Not so fast. You said this:

This saying does not apply to every class, course load, and student. For students in a rigorous major doing the above is considered the bare minimum and will result in Bs if you’re lucky.

I’d rather study too much and get As than studying too little and regretting my lack of preparation. That’s just me. I’ve got things to do and plan riding on my grades. I’m not letting them fall through because I feel I can “get by” with minimal studying.

o.o We been told that 2 hours is the recommended amount… not the bare minimum. But of course they also told us that HOW we study determine our grades and whatever.
