<p>The start of my freshman year is coming up quite rapidly and I have yet to decide what computer I want I have a 1700 dollar budget but I have narrowed it down to two options. Get a 13inch MacBook pro 2.7 and then buying a 20inch monitor to hook it up to in my dorm OR buying an iMac (the cheap one - 1999) and then buying a crappy >400 dollar laptop</p>

<p>Texas state university- McCoy College of business administration; I wanna be able to write papers, aNd do all my school work without it crashing and play maybe age of empires every now and then</p>
<p>If you have a $1700 budget, you could really go all out with this, if you aren’t set on getting macs. You could get a top of the line gaming PC along with a decent laptop as well. But if all you plan on using it for is school work and age of empires, you really don’t need to spend anywhere near $1700 anyway, you could use the extra money for something more useful.</p>
