I’m a senior right now with some health issues so thinking to stay at SUNY UAlbany for 1 semmesters or 2 semesters, and once health improves, transfer to SUNY Ubuffalo.
I am a Biology major. Will a pre med students classes /credits transfer smoothly from SUNY UAlbany to SUNY Ubaffalo after 1 semster or 2 semesters? I got a 3 on AP LANG, 3 on AP computer science A. 4 on AP WORLD history and 4 on AP Statistics.
Would you consider staying at Albany given you will be starting there? Students do transfer for a number of reasons, but I think it’s better not to go in with the intention of transferring.
Attending Albany due to health issues is a very reasonable decision- you can achieve your med/grad school goals.
To answer your question, your credits should transfer but I would ask just to make sure.
https://www.buffalo.edu/taurus.html lists what existing course equivalencies Buffalo has. You can put “SUNY UNIVERSITY AT ALBANY” into TAURUS - Course Equivalency Guide - University at Buffalo to see what courses will be considered equivalent to what courses at Buffalo (you will have to look up the Buffalo course catalog to see what courses you want equivalency for).
For AP credit, each campus will apply its own rules. I.e. if you stay at Albany, Albany’s AP credit rules at Credit for Prior Learning | University at Albany will apply. But if you transfer to Buffalo, Buffalo’s AP credit rules at https://www.buffalo.edu/registrar/classes-and-grades/transfer-credit/alternative-exam-credit.html will apply.
But since Albany is a good four year school, why not stay there all four years?
