How many of us have affixed those decals for our kids’ colleges to the car?

We received one at some point, but haven’t put it on. (I also never had one from my own college, and never bought a college shirt or class ring of any kind…clearly I must have some kind of complex on the subject! )

Raising hand here. But I refused to buy it and display until we were TOTALLY sure that she was going there - fin aid was in, loan approved - everything signed, sealed, delivered. I didn’t want to jinx anything. I’m proud to display it.

I did see a car the other day that must have had a dozen different decals on it’s back window. I think they were snarking the whole decal thing…

After sending in her deposit check, D proudly plastered her college decals all over her car. I drive her car while she is away at her college, and I get questions all the time “Wow, did you go to XYZ?” For some reason, when my H takes D’s car, he never gets those questions :D

I’ve allowed DH to affix one for each of our kids’ schools to an old beater we keep in a barn at my parent’s house in VT and drive to get gardening supplies. It amazing, every time we are in it we gave waves and honks!

hmom5, are you sure it wasn’t the result of the “Honk if you love Jesus” bumper sticker? (Or was it “Jeez if you love Honk-us”–a bumper sticker I once saw that made me almost spit out the drink I was sipping from)

H has nothing on his car. D & I each have a very small decal for her school (also my school) in our rear windows. S1 is heading off to the same school, so no new car-wear in store for us.

I’ve absolutely got a sticker for D’s college on my car, and fully intend to put one on with S’s college once the choice is made. However, nobody around here has heard of D’s college so I feel like something of an ambassador and have had to drive a lot nicer than I used to.

I have no stickers for either kid’s college even though S1 is at DH’s college and S2 is at mine. DH has a very small sticker for his (and S1’s) school on the bumper of his truck.
I’m not against stickers, just never have bought one.

S1 got one with his acceptance that he put on his truck. S2 bought 2 when he went on his college visit for his truck’s rear window. Both also have sch. license plates on the front.

My husband and I both have both kids decals as will as our own (the same school.) The kids have the decals on their own cars for their school, although my son did not include his medical school, just undergrad/grad.

I’ve two from my school on my truck. Also have one from my parents’ college (different school; same athletic conference ;)) I haven’t heard about it yet, but when I get back to working oncampus with the college athletes, I probably will

My dad has two from college on his trailblazer (taken off of vehicles that I have taken over time ;))

D was accepted ED to dream school, so she has 2 stickers on her car. I bought one, put in on the back window of my car…the lettering is dark, my windows are tinted-you can’t see it.
Oh well.

We have them on all the cars and trucks (that would be 5). S ended up at the same college that D went to so we only have one on all of them. S did give D the license plate alumni frame from the school for her birthday, so she has that as well.

My girls put their decals on their cars, but I didn’t want them on mine…then my well meaning brother in law affixed one to my back window…what could I say :)

We have stickers on a couple of our cars. Son has his and his sister’s on his car that he has at his college. It was her car for a year when she started college and we were too lazy to peel it off. Neither kids college is well known but it makes me smile and the cars easy to recognize.

I have a tiny window sticker from D1s school on one of those wind wing triangle windows, I am looking for similar amusing and tiny ones for the other two schools. I may run out of windows if I add grad schools!

My husband used to have bad karma with his car – put a sticker on and it would be hit within a month! That seemed to mostly for his affiliations. We have stickers on our cars for S1s college and S2s school and no problems!

As we travel to games, it’s fun on the highway to see parents/friends and alumni heading to the same game.

That is funny…last fall we took our daughter’s car up to see her for parent’s weekend. As I was driving on the Mass Pike, a woman in a car behind me kept honking and waving. We first thought there was an issue with the car, but when we got into a traffic jam, she motioned for me to roll down my window, only to chat about the college and her child who was also there !
