Throughout my years at Olive Harvey community college I believe curiosity and mindfulness has played a big role in my academic experiences and by having leadership skills and a never giving up attitude equipped with me everywhere I go has made me the type of student I am today. Since the first day I stepped foot into Olive-Harvey community college doors, hard work is what I have been chasing after. My academics I achieved thus far describes myself as a dream chaser with a “Failure is not an option” attitude. At Olive-Harvey College I had no idea what I wanted to major in but I knew the subjects Mathematics and Science has always sparked my interest ever since I attended Chicago Vocational Career Academy high school. During my fall and spring semester of 2013 at Olive-Harvey I enrolled in Mathematics courses as well as a Chemistry course in the summer of 2013. After I completed my courses my freshman semester I decided I wanted to pursue a pathway in Mechanical Engineering. While attending Olive Harvey College, I took advantage of opportunities to be active on campus. During my first semester I joined the Stem Robotics club and the Stem club. Toward the end of my freshman year I was recognized at my school as student of the month by my adviser Ms. Duron, who is a General Biology professor, academic adviser as well as a Phi Theta Kappa conductor. During my years at Olive Harvey I took challenging courses and remained active around my campus. Although some days it seemed tough, I have always kept in mind that I have a dream and every single day my goal is to do whatever it takes even with the little amount of energy I might have I would always push myself to greatness so I can make something happen to eventually reach my full potential.
In the fall of 2014 I was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Lamda Iota chapter. The Phi Theta Kappa organization recognizes students with leadership skills, character and charity. I was also recognized as a presidential scholar and received a presidential scholar certificate. Try to private message your essays to people instead of posting them online. This essay was okay, but 1. you spend way too much time talking about all of your awards, and 2. you don’t answer the question. How would you describe your community college experience? Also, 3. This is over 4200 characters. The prompt asks for 600 characters (that means letters and spaces, not words).
