College enrollment question on App and DE classes

Hi! I’m sure I’m not the first one with this question, but could not find answer to my question in the previous discussions. As my daughter was filling out the applications she came across a question “Have you ever been enrolled in college before?” She will be taking dual enrollment MVC this year. So how should she answer the question? She is taking this class in HS but it’s through college… A little confusing…

Neither DE nor AP classes count as being previously enrolled in college. She was enrolled in HS at the time.

There is no doubt about AP classes, but for DE classes students enrolled in that college where they take this class, so technically she is enrolled in college (and high school at the same time)

Not sure which application(s) she is filling out but I looked at instructions for 2 college applications. Instructions are listed below:
If any college/university-level courses were completed while in high school (including those completed as part of a dual enrollment program), applicants can add the college information after completing the high school section.

For the Common App, the question reads “If you have ever taken coursework at a college or university, please indicate the number of colleges” and this does include DE courses.

Thank you for all responses, @Gumbymom, she is filling out Colorado school of Mines. I also desided to call their admission office to clarify, and they said to fill out freshman application and indicate that she is enrolled in college. It is for them to see what college level classes she takes… they said it’s common…

Going to the source is always the best way to get the correct information. Glad everything was clarified.
