so here’s my problem:
we did an essay for english class this school year (personal experience and its impact on you). My essay has 700 words. can I submit this one? does this kind of essay meet the requirements? sorry for the ignorant question but I really have no idea

no, follow the guidelines the college setup. If you go over, they may throw your application out.

cut & condense

The directions say to submit a report OR a 500 word or less essay. It doesn’t day the report must be less than 500 words. If in doubt, call the admissions office and ask. I did exactly that yesterday (different school) and was told my essay could go over the word count and that I should email it directly to the person I spoke with. Now my application is right in front of an admissions representative instead of in the general pile and my essay has not been chopped up.
