College essay

I literally have no idea what to write my college essay on. My counselor says it’s better to write about an experience rather than a person who has influenced you but I can’t think of any experiences I’ve had that are essay worthy. All I can think of writing about is the fact that I changed schools after freshman year but that seems boring. What did people here write their essays on?

You can’t really base people on what he/she wrote on an essay from their experiences, because there is such a huge range (it can be something simple such as taking a walk in the park or to a life and death situation).

For me, I wrote about how I aspire to become an engineer because of how much exposure I’ve gotten from working with my Dad (he’s a general contractor).

Some colleges publish examples of good essays. It’s how you write about it, not so much what you choose to write about.

Hope this helps.
