College GPA

My nephew has a GPA of 3.123 and a 3.2 is needed to get into a program. what does he need to get in grades to bring it up next semester ?
Thank you

You haven’t provided enough information.

How many credits is the 3.123 based on?
How many credits is he taking this semester and what will the grades be?
How many credits will he take next semester?

Does he need the 3.2 by the end of Spring semester?

It depends on how many credits he has taken already and how many credits he is currently taking. You can google GPA calculator and figure it out.

Some colleges will let kids petition to enter a major or stay in a major when their GPA is close. My oldest son had a roommate that always seemed to fall slightly below the cut-off and petitioned his way to his diploma.

If he has less than a B in any courses needed for his major, perhaps he should discuss retaking with his advisor.

If he has completed two years and has about 64 credits, then a 3.3 in the next semester should put him over 3.2 (Assuming he is taking four courses every semester).
