<p>My daughter is looking at DI schools for gymnastics. What is the experience with time commitment and ability to be involved in other activities and the ability to take a semester abroad?</p>
<p>Not familiar with gymnastics specifically, but it is a rare DI athlete that can study abraod during the school year. My daughter was very interested in study abroad and only one school would allow her to do a fall study abroad as a recruited athlete.</p>
<p>For my D1 nephew gymnast it is definitely a full school year commitment. There is a lot of friendly competition on the team for the chance to perform in the meets. I really don’t know if a semester abroad has been expressly forbidden, but I think he’d fear falling behind. Good luck.</p>
