College kids and senioritis

Does senioritis exist for college students?

Yes, often a million times worse than for HS students, because after your senior year of college you may be done with school altogether, not just for the summer. Also, you may already have a job offer lined up early in the year, so there isn’t a lot of concern about performance in classes - if you’ve even bothered to take serious classes anyway, because by senior year, many people have fulfilled all their requirements and are a) not taking a full courseload b) taking ridiculously easy courses c) both.

Interesting. Does this apply to Harvard students too, though? I know that most people who are eligible for advanced standing go on to pursue four full years, so they must not be in that big of a hurry to leave…

Oh yes.

People don’t do advanced standing mostly, I think, because it is really hard to pull off. If you try to do an honors-only concentration and advanced standing, for example, you get a total of three electives! (Assuming you take a standard 4 classes a term.)
