College L&S student for CS major

I know for students in L&R to be adimitted to CS, he/she has to have 3.3 GPA on three courses. Is there a cap on how many qualified students can be admitted or everyone who has 3.3 GPA coule be admitted?

Not at this point.

Well, technically the 3.3 GPA requirement to declare is the cap – an implicit one at best – as it requires a B+ average. in three courses which have curves.

Is the GPA scale 4? 3.3 means one A and two Bs, correct?

@golftlist Due to the nature of averages, one A and two Bs is statistically equivalent to 3 B+'s.

(4.0 + 2(3.0)) = 3.33333…
3(3.333)/3 = 3.3333…

http://reslife.berkeley.edu/gpa-calculator gives the point values for each grade when calculating GPA at UCB.

Note that all three of CS 61A, 61B, 70 are 4 units, so they all count equally in the GPA needed to get into L&S CS.
