Do you think it’s one of the easier majors to get into at MSU?
What would you say would be like the average GPA to get in there?

Thanks.

Based on the fact that MSU has one of the best education programs in the nation, I’d guess it’d be somewhat harder than average for MSU.

DSC is correct, it’s one of the nation’s best education programs. However, freshman admissions does not vary from college to college unless you’re looking at either: the Honors College, college of Music (requires an audition); or one of the residential programs, which will admit you based on space availability – whereby you’d still be admitted to MSU, just not that particular program.

Ah, I see. I wasn’t aware that they had a very good program.
Thanks all.

MSU’s education program is considered a national model as well as a research trend-sitter. In the 1980s, Michigan State and Harvard combined to create, in East Lansing, the Holmes Commission on education which modified/revolutionized college education: requiring, rather than a 4 year degree mixing some liberal arts with a lot of practical teaching courses, a 4 year liberal arts B.A. program supplemented with a 5th year/or masters focusing on a more nuts and bolts education curriculum… the National Institute for Research on Teaching is housed at Michigan State. In addition the highly influential Third International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS), which measured math and science skills of elementary and secondary students around the world, was undertaken at MSU and its research center is also housed on campus. Students from around the nation come to MSU to study education.

Wow, thanks for the information. =)
