Ok I was accepted into the College of General Studies and went to admitted students day, wow I was shocked! They make you take a list of courses mandatory for two years. The courses involve only english, history, and a science course. There isn’t even a math course for two years, which is awful beacuse I want to major in Math Education! What do they think…math isnt an important subject anymore? You cant even take a foreign language, and I want to minor in German! Plus the history courses sound very boring…revolution of China and Russia…and there isn’t even chemistry! They really limit you to the courses you can take! Hey if you want to major in History or English, there is no problem with the CGS, but in my case with Math and German, no way! So i am saying NO to BU…its a shame…

is CGS the same as CAS

nope CAS is arts and sciences

CGS is the College of General Studies. You can find out more about it by searching the forums. Most students are placed in the college of their choice. The rest are deferred to CGS, a two year transitional program.
