My D26 just made the decision that applying ED to HC is the best option for her.

Stats: Roughly, 3.7 UW, 4.1 W. 9 APs. SAT 1440, but will be retaking it. Legacy— through me! Has shown considerable demonstrated interest. Will interview 9/30. We live in CA.

CHC was the only school we visited over the summer where my S26 said “I’m definitely applying here!” Really enjoyable tour and experience with the admissions team. He would like to be admitted to several schools and then make his final decision, but ED is on the table.

Good luck today to all those ED’ing! We opted to go with regular decision; we live in CA and we just couldn’t pass up the possibility of one of the UCs (plus a few other highly esteemed choices). But I feel a tiny pang nonetheless that it would be fun to get a decision today!

My son opted for RD as well. Funny, the college he talks about the most continues to be Holy Cross.

Good luck to all the ED1 applicants!

should decisions be out today? what time probably? will they send a email or msg prompt or do I just have to go to web and keep checking?

Check your HC portal. They send an email when to check. Good luck.

My D26 made the decision that apply RD to HC even though it is her top choice,

Stats: Roughly, 3.7 UW, 4.1 W. 4 APs… all that were offered at our HS. Has shown considerable demonstrated interest, visited multiple times, interviewed last month as well as shadowed a student for the day. Fingers crossed! We’re getting nervous because yesterday they ED’d 4 4 of her classmates, hoping there’s no quote per HS.

Your D’s GPA is exactly the same as mine’s  My D26 doesn’t think she’ll get in without ED; I think she has a 50-50 shot. I’m an alumna, for what it’s worth. Even if she does happen to get in, though, I don’t know if we’re up for the cost. We could do it, but it’s the old question of whether any UG degree is worth almost $100K. If she gets in, it will be tempting for sure.

Cost is def a factor, she has received significant merit scholarships from her EA schools, but HC remains her top choice. Fingers crossed to all our students!
