I am a senior at a pretty well-respected Chicago private school. I have a 2.8 GPA and scored a 1500 on SAT. I was wondering what college options I have. I want a school with a good party scene and preferably Greek life. I am okay going to any region of the country and the school can be public or private. Thanks!

What is your financial situation?

Upper-middle class. Also, my main EC is varsity soccer all four years.

Have you asked your parents how much they will pay for college? You should do that now. There are many private Us and directional Us that will accept you but the prices vary quite a bit.

yeah, they said they would pay up to $30,000.

Because your scores aren’t so above average (as in the general public). It will be financially adventagious for you to start out at community college first, then transfer to a state school. With the help of your parents and a couple of summer jobs, you could graduate without loans.

Of course, if you want to join Greek life, there are many schools that will have that in you state. Community college will not, however.

sorry, they said 30,000 per year.

Just did a quick search with the collegeboard tool: https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/college-search

If you don’t apply for financial aid, many schools will admit you.
