Hello CC! I’m in 11th grade and I started planning for college this summer and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for schools that I should be looking at. Currently, I have University of Florida (in-state) and Florida State University (in-state) on my list. Below I kind of summarized my college app stuff?..

GPA: 3.89
SAT: 1420/1600 (720M 700CR+W)
ACT 1st time: 30 (33E 31M 32R 25S) (September 2015)
ACT 2nd time: 33 (36E 32M 33R 30S) (June 2016)
AP Classes: AP Computer Science A (5), AP Environmental Science (4), AP World History (3), AP Psychology (5), AP Human Geography (4), AP Calculus AB (?), AP Stats (?), AP Chemistry (?), AP English (?), AP Micro (?), AP Macro (?), AP Art History (?)
Foreign languge: Spanish I and II in 7th and 10th, Spanish III in nextyear
Peeves: Student Government, Greek Life, Study Hogs/Robots, Loudness
Preffered Geography: any weather, metropolitain
Preffered Major: either Art or Computer Science/Engineering
Other Preferences: accepts some of my AP credits (4-5s)

Its probably strange that I’m just starting this college stuff :confused: but I’d appreciate some guidance from your experience.

“Preferred”, not “prefferred”. No Greek organizations on Catholic affiliated schools. If you are seriously considering engineering you need to determine whether those programs are housed in a separate school with its own admissions, or available to all admitted students.

Art and engineering are not similar. Some schools for art majors may require a portfolio to be submitted before you are accepted into the art program. So it is possible to be accepted by the university academically but not into their art program because of portfolio submittal.

Also, what do you mean about not liking “… study hogs/ robotics, loudness…”?

@MerryLee I actually do have a portfolio for college. I have a Princeton colleges book that describe some colleges (ex. Carnegie Mellon) where fun was “studying, memorizing course material, and group studying.”
