Free visit.

@Tarheel: No, lucky you! Nothing here…Did they call you or e mail you?

Hmm…well I didn’t get an email from Yale… =( they prob don’t want me to visit then…oh well. But I got the Window On William (visit to William) and will apply to visit to Wellesley…good luck guys!

I got my Windows on Williams acceptance yesterday and can’t wait to visit in September FOR FREE!

@nihi: They probably just have the wrong email address…I got another email from Yale about how they get to shop for courses…it sounds so cool…makes me really wish I had a shot at Yale. (I do not, sadly)
Congrats to everyone who got a free college visit-I am going to apply for the Wellesley visit, I would love to go there!

Is the Wellesley paid visit by invitation only?

Congrats @drumwriter22!!!

I was rejected from Windows on Williams. Oh well! Congrats, drumwriter22. :)

I’m applying for the Wellesley visit, and possibly Bowdoin’s.

Thanks! I’m sorry you didn’t get it @liddyd. Good luck with Wellesley! I don’t think I’m going to apply…just not sure I like the all-girl school idea. How did you hear about Bowdoin’s program? Is it invitation only?

P.S. Until the Yale conference, I always thought it was pronounced, Bow-DOYN, like “coin”. Haha

Thanks, drumwriter22, I hope you have a great time! Yeah, women’s colleges definitely aren’t everyone’s thing. As for Bowdoin, I got an email about it and I assume they got my information from QB. I don’t think it’s invitation only. It’s called Explore Bowdoin- I’d link the page on their website but I don’t know how to do the URL link thingy.
It was easy to find on the Bowdoin website by searching.

@notratruetarheel Congrats dude!!! (: Lucky youuuu. I hope if I ever do get it (among the many other more talented applicants than I) I hope it won’t interfere with my cheerleading practices (missing a summer practice can bring removal from the team as it did last year). OMG. Who’s also applying for Wellesley College Visit??? I want to! I’ve been interested in going to a liberal arts school since I’ve read about them through the Questbridge e-mail! Thanks to this organization, I feel more informed about the colleges.
But the problem is, in my school, all my counselors got transferred to different schools so idk who is supposed to send the unofficial transcripts! T.T I e-mailed them a couple days ago about my problem, never got an answer…

I also want to apply for the Wesleyan visit

I am pretty sur ethat the Wellesley Travel Grant is not by invitation only so those who are very interested can go ahead and apply! Good luck!

I am just curious about the dates of these college visit programs in regard to Questbridge dates. Since the deadline for the Match program is September 30th, that means most of questbridge members have already made their college list and have chosen which binding school to commit to applying, so what is the point of having the visits in October? For the regular decision patch? But doesn’t that mean these schools already lost the best of the student pool to the Match process before their efforts materialize?

The deadline for submitting your QB app for finalist vs. non-finalist is 9/30. You don’t submit your ranking until much later…I want to say early November? Therefore, the college visits are actually in plenty of time to aid your decision.

And @liddy, thanks for the Bowdoin info and best of luck with Wellesley!

The form where you rank your colleges for the College Match is due Oct. 12th. If you are not matched, finalists can add/change the colleges they will apply to RD through QB by Dec. 15th.

I stand corrected. I can’t follow that link from my phone but does that means that in that short span between Sept 30 and Oct 12 we find out if we’re a finalist?? It just seems like such a short amount of time to make such a big decision.

QB Finalists will be notified by email on Oct. 21st.

The National College Match application should be available this week, so good luck to all of you who will be starting your applications (the sooner, the better). I hope you’re using the QuestBridge site for advice and information on the whole college application process - there’s a lot of helpful information available.

@liddydonaghy, drumwriter22: wait, really? I haven’t even sent in my application yet! Should I do that soon? (I’m guessing the answer is yes).

How long did it take you guys to find out about WoW after you had submitted your application?

I don’t believe apps for WOW are still being accepted. They were due by early July for priority something or other and I’m pretty sure the second deadline has also passed. Decisions were released on August 1st, though I believe accepted students were notified several days before as I was. Doesn’t hurt to call Williams and find out though!

Random Question, but would you put receiving the invitation to the QB Conference as an honor on a college application?

Just dug through my email- final WOW deadline is August 18th. There’s still time!

Kimberlyy, I put it as Questbridge College Prep Scholar. :)
