I’d have to say that rankings are sometimes incredibly flawed. For the most recent USNWR rankings, in the South Regional Universities section, UNC Wilmington is ranked below schools that have much lower graduation and retention rates, such as Samford University, Stetson University, Belmont University, Appalachian State University, Bellarmine University, Union University, and the University of Mary Washington. UNCW is far more prestigious than most of those schools combined (except Appalachian State University, which is better than the others except UNCW).
If you’re going to base rankings off of graduation and retention rates, GET IT RIGHT.
@LBad96 No one cares about the prestige for these regional universities, except for a possibly small minority but it doesn’t make much economical sense for US News to focus much effort in what very few people bother to look at. Most of those schools you listed, I guarantee a substantial majority have never heard of, or only have some passing recognition. I personally believe most people are only (or for the most part) interested in the top 50 rankings for research universities.
Renton Technical college should rank the lowest because they have some professors and bad professors that don’t follow every like midterms , this school is banned for cheating, security cameras, and also in class too this school should be a college without cheating, security cameras the college is the 10th best I don’t think so since mostly bad professors who doesn’t follow the rules
The key is to figure out what’s important to you – the characteristics you desire – and then research and rank schools according to your preferences.
Regardless of the fit variables you choose, one variable should always be cost, because if you can’t afford to attend, the school is a poor fit. So find colleges you like according to your own set of variables and run the NPC on each of them. Your results will then be good – assuming you have at least one safety – because you will be applying to schools you both like and can afford.
