Thank you for giving me this opportunity to explain my circumstances. The first semester in XYZ(Fall2014) being my first independent venture away from home and not knowing how universities work in USA I took courses which my fellow peers of Electrical Department was taking. A month into the course of “Embedded Systems” I realized that I am far off from the level of programming knowledge that this course demands. I was unable to complete the assignments and as a result got an ‘F’. This course took a big chunk of my study time and I got a ‘C’ in another course too in that semester.
I changed my study habits greatly in the second semester but I got ‘C’ in Control Systems which I had hoped I would be doing well. This resulted in my termination from the university. I have only myself to blame for the naive decisions I took and I fully understand that I should have worked much harder in order to succeed.
In these 4 years after termination I have grown as a person. Apart from working part-time for Income Tax agency I have taught myself to code in C, Python, R and learnt Data Science through MOOCs from Coursera and Udemy. But I have realised the hard way that I need a Masters degree to get a job in this field.
I loved my days in XYZ and would be honored to prove my worth in this field if given the chance and I will not commit the same mistakes. I will seek help from the TAs and academic advisors if I face any problem in any course. I will put my head down and treat my studies my sole path towards redemption.
What changes should I make to make in under 1500 characters? Presently it is 1549 characters. Please help urgent
