College Recs from STEM vs. English/Social Studies teachers

Hello,

Is it recommended for me to get a teacher recommendation from both a math/science teacher and a English/Social Studies teacher? What if I know that my math/science teachers will write worse recs than my English/Social Studies teachers? Should I still get one from both categories?

If you’re applying to a STEM program, it’s certainly good to have a STEM recommendation. Either way, you just want to submit the best possible recommendations you can get. Certainly don’t opt for a STEM recommendation you know won’t be as good just to diversify.
