In Nov 2012 I applied for SFSU and turned in my application with my G.P.A 2.63 + SAT Scores. They accepted me around in March or so. They had me do placement tests and I didn't pass so I had to do Early Start English + Math which took very long. I did very good in my senior year and got 3.0 and 3.5 for final G.P.A so I don't get rescinded since they already accepted me with the grades I sent them. Recently they sent me a mail 3 weeks before school started and I already got all my classes. They send me a Notice of Denial and they said my G.P.A does not meet the index. I have reasons to tell them, but if they still won't accept me then they basically wasted all my time doing placement tests and orientation. Also it's already almost too late to sign up for placement tests and orientation for Community Colleges. Is there anything I can do? I feel like they played me because they already accepted me for the grades I sent them with my 9th,10th,11th grade A-G courses. The only thing that should've rescinded me is that I do bad in 12th grade which I didn't do bad on. Do you think there is anything I can do?

You should probably write a letter to admissions and quickly so that you can explain your situation. I’m a little confused on why exactly they rescinded you.

They said my G.P.A is too low. But I’ve already sent them my G.P.A + SAT Scores in Nov 2012 and they conditionally accepted me. So the only thing that probably would’ve rescinded me is that if I do bad in my senior year.

You need to get in touch with the admissions office ASAP, probably someone higher up who has the authority over these kinds of things. Based on the information given here I dont understand what the issue is. If you’ve already done orientation, registered for classes, etc, one would assume the admission office is alright with you attending the school. It could very well be a mistake, but you need to call first thing Monday morning and find out.

They denied me just recently saying my G.P.A is too low. They already accepted me with the grades I sent them so they already had an idea of my grades + SAT score. And yeah ill go to the admission director first thing Monday. Thanks

To help your case, you should be sure they have your Sr semester and year end transcripts. Not to mention that nothing seems to have changed for the worse with your gpa. Maybe failing the placement tests was a problem. Good luck.

Was the 3.0 GPA the total for all four years or just senior year? What does your final transcript say?

What were the conditions stated in the letter? Did you meet them?
