I’m a junior in high school in search of an affordable college. If possible, I would love to attend a Catholic or Jesuit affiliated school, but that is not a must. I’m looking for a college on the East Coast (less than 5 hours away from New Jersey). My limit on total cost must be lower than roughly 32,000
The main states I am looking at for college would be New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and New York
Criteria:
3.43 GPA (weighted)
Field Hockey (JV Captain), Swimming, Lacrosse (4 years for all)
Clubs: SEEK, Interact, ERASE, Peer Buddies, Italian American Cultural Club, FEA
Antioch 61 and 62 Team Member (200 hours of community service)
Crossroads Youth Ministry (sophomore-senior year)
History tutor (soph-senior year)
Currently taking 3 ap classes, 4 history classes
Senior year I will be taking 3 ap classes, 5 history classes.

I am interested in becoming a history teacher (high school) thus, the college I attend must be equipped for a Secondary Education in History major.

If you were to expand your reaches a little bit to West Virginia, I would recommend Wheeling Jesuit University which has a tuition of about 31,000 a year, and it has Lacross and a swimming team (though they do not have field hockey, sorry!). It is an excellent, prestigious school and has everything that you are looking for. It has about 1500 students also, and they do have your major.

Just something to think about! ([Wheeling Jesuit University - Life, Leadership, Service](http://www.wju.edu))

Less than 33,000 cost and at least 50% five year graduation rate. Don’t know about the teacher certification. If 32,000 your anticipated EFC?

What state do you want to teach in? You may want to check the specific teacher certification requirements for the state that you want to teach in, so that you can select schools which offer curricula that match those requirements (probably in-state schools).

All of those colleges sound great! Some of them I have already looked into, and the others I definitely will as well! I would love to teach in New Jersey because I want to live close to my family. However, if I become certified in a different state I am willing to of course go through the necessary routes to be certified in New Jersey as well.
