NYU, Emory, Boston University
Universities of Washington and Wisconsin; University of Pittsburgh; Washington University in St. Louis; UNC; maybe Creighton in Omaha, which is a better school and cooler city that you might suspect.
similar in what way?
Similar to BC (a Jesuit private college in the northeast): Fordham, Georgetown, Fairfield, Holy Cross, St Josephs (Phila). Ranging further west: Creighton, Detroit Mercy, St Louis, Gonzaga.
Similar to UMich ( a huge “Public Ivy” in the Midwest): UVA, UCB/UCLA, Wm & Mary, Wisconsin-Madison, U Illinois, UWash, UTexas-Austin, UNC-CH, maybe PSU.
Similar stats for admission: Davidson, Emory, Colby, Vassar, Johns Hopkins, Tufts…
What about BC and UMich interests you the most?
Villanova is similar to BC in that they are both Catholic, have lots of spirit for sports teams, are in pretty suburbs close to a city, have business and nursing programs, are medium sized, and have similar student bodies.
Also Rutgers may be a good one to look at if you are in that area of the country. Large research uni like UMich, but east coast like BC.
Cornell is similar to Michigan.
Any of the “Big Ten” universities share similarities with the University of Michigan (there are actually 14 universities now in the Big Ten conference). They include U of Wisconsin-Madison, U of Illinois, U of Minnesota-Twin Cities, U of Indiana, Ohio State, Purdue, Michigan State, Pennsylvania State, Maryland, Rutgers and others. Boston College is Catholic, so similar universities would include Fordham University in NYC and Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
