Hi! I am a senior in high school and college selection is in a little over a week I am a 4.0 student with a 33 act from NE Ohio. All of these colleges will be about the same cost for me due to scholarships, so thats not a concern. But I plan to major in International Relations, so I would like to study abroad as much as possible. THAT IS A MAJOR FACTOR. Studying abroad with an honors program would be great as well⦠I got into my major at all of these schools, and they all seem to have pros and cons. I want to have some sort of social life, whether that be sporting events, sororities, clubs/activities⦠I am not 100% sure what all I want to participate in yet, but I want to do something! While I want some sort of social life, my grades are very important to me. I also want to get a well-rounded education, have good opportunities, and be well prepared for the future. Any advice???
Programs I got into:
ASU- Barrett Honors Program
American- AU Scholars Program
U of Pitt- Honors College
The School of International Service at American is easily the strongest IR program out of all of those schools. Look up āInside the Ivory Tower rankingsā Americanās undergrad program is ranked #9 in the world, while itās masters is ranked #8. American is gonna have the best study abroad program as well. Iāll be honest, the school spirit is kinda meh. The lack of a football team makes it that way. Most of the other schools you mentioned are gonna have significantly more school spirit and will probably be more āparty schoolsā. Not to say American doesnāt have a good social scene, but, for example, there is no fraternity/sorority housing on campus and itās technically a ādry campusā. If the cost is the same, I would definitely say go to American. The IR programs at the other schools you mentioned donāt even come close.
AU Scholars + SIS, absolutely!
Miamiā¦good all-around school, beautiful campus, sports, very international areaā¦
