I think Yale is smaller than Harvard but bigger than Princeton, is this right? How does Stanford fit into the mix (I know it’s really big, but I wanted a point of comparison). Also, would you go as far as to say it’s the biggest compared to the Ivies (yes, I know Stanford isn’t an Ivy).

Go to the CB College Search function and compare the sizes of these schools (w/ and w/o grad students).

^Good idea. :)

Stanford and Harvard are about the same size at the undergraduate level. Harvard’s professional schools – especially law, government, and business – are very large relative to others. Stanford’s graduate engineering school is also very large. At the undergraduate level, Cornell and Penn (among the Ivies) are both bigger than Harvard.

Princeton expanded its class a few years ago, so I think it is not a whole lot smaller than Yale anymore. Maybe by 300 students (total) or so. Yale plans to increase its size to that of Harvard when it gets around to building two new residential colleges.
