Several years ago, there were two VERY SMART high school sisters who killed their mom for her life insurance policy.

They carefully planned it. They put pills in her alcoholic beverage, encouraged mom to take a warm bath, and after the pills took effect, one of the sisters held her down in the water for 8 minutes…while the other sister was TEXTING their friends giving them “minute by minute” updates!!!

They got away with it for about 2 years. Their friends knew ALL about it. But, then a “friend of a friend” learned, told the cops, they wired this person, and got the whole thing recorded.

What about the lives forever shattered and life lost by the murder she committed? Doesn’t sound like she spent much time in jail at all. Wish the people whose lives were shattered brought a civil action against her to help themselves rebuild their lives.

Murder or attempted violence for money or other resources is a long-running theme throughout human history. Pretty awful that youthful offenders who show such planning and deliberation in their actions get such short terms for these heinous offenses.

NO. Tried a few times but could never connect w/ her writing style or characters. And now after reading that article (where her sense of guilt/remorse about bludgeoning a woman to death is about as deep as someone wrecking the family car) . her books are now on my do-not-buy list.

I do have compassion for Anne Perry. I think she made a huge mistake based on a belief that she was saving a friend’s life. I think she has paid for it.

I realize Wikipedia is not always correct but the reason Anne Perry helped kill Honora Rieper was not because she feared for Pauline Parkers life but because she and Pauline had an obsessive relationship and she didnt want to be separated from Pauline.
