college suggestions

My daughter is a junior this year. She has unweighted GPA 3.3-3.5 (school not weighting) with full IB, but got C+ on biology. Honor society, play tennis.
She just took her SAT on 03/13/10, and the score might be BETWEEN 1800~1900. Just wonder which schools fit her? She has no idea what will her major be yet. LAC or public’s all fine. We are in WA. My D need push all the time, otherwise lazy. Any suggestions?

With around 1,500 four-year colleges in the U.S., we’ll need more specific criteria before anyone will be able to respond. The stats you cite would make her a possibility for around 1,400 of them.

The guidance counselors at your daughter’s high school should be able to give you some good ideas to start with. They know what colleges students from their IB program have been admitted to, and whether or not a C+ in biology would be a problem for those colleges.

The most important question, however, is how much money your family will be able to pay for her education. You need to run a calculator for your Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) there is a good one at [College Calculators - savings calculators - college costs, loans](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>Calculate Your Cost – BigFuture | College Board) Once you know how much money the colleges will expect your family to be able to pay, you will have a better idea about what kinds of colleges your daughter can look at.
