I’ve been accepted to 2 top 15 public universities with equal academics and departments.
Would you attend the one with more or less?</p>

<p>Unless the difference is really huge (i.e. a school with a core curriculum and a school with an open curriculum), I wouldn’t really take it into consideration. 2 humanities classes + 3 math/science classes versus 3 humanities + 3 math/science classes wouldn’t be the deciding factor.</p>
<p>In general, though, if the difference were large enough and all other factors were equal, the more open one.</p>
<p>Actually the one with less gen ed requirements has more required classes relating to my major. FYI which one would you choose?</p>
<p>Well, if that’s the case, why wouldn’t you choose the one with less gen-ed requirements?</p>
<p>What do you prefer? I like breadth of study - especially in fields I wouldn’t otherwise explore because they are not my strengths. On the other hand, I don’t want to be stuck taking GERs for two years. As a result, I chose schools with enough requirements for about one year, with a little leeway given that certain other schools had other characteristics I liked (Chicago).</p>
