College Wonder?

My Dad is obsessed with my academics and wants me to transfer from a Senior College to an Ivy league school or another top school. We visited Columbia University and discovered that Columbia accepts transfer studets from community colleges. Now I’ve never had a dream school and my high school transcript is not very good but the more I think about my visit to Columbia the more intrigued I become with it. I have a plan as to how i’m going to get into Columbia university and i am also fortunate enough to have a connection with the Dean Of Columbia through my friends father. As of right now it is a full obsession with me, however I don’t plan on transfering until 2011. I am also thinking about N.Y.U and a few other schools in New York. My G.P.A is a 3.5 as of now and I was wondering what is that on a 4.0 scale? Am I coming down with the “Ivy league Syndrome”? And are the Ivy League schools even worth going through so much hard work to get in?

It’s worth the work if it’s something you want to do.
