<p>I have never heard of anyone being able to do that but maybe?.. I would say definitely register for a writing class at orientation though because those fill up fast and some classes are very different from others whereas with some other AP tests (maybe Bio for example) you might choose not to register for it until after you find out your score.</p>
<p>Some majors and programs get themselves out of the writing requirement as well. I didn’t have to take the second semester (WR150) but that is pretty rare and I don’t know of anyone who gets out of the first semester (WR100) for something like that.</p>
