Colleges and High School Type

Hello all,
Will students attending a higher ranking school receive more attention than a lower ranking one?
Even if money or location did not permit you to attend a higher ranking school?
Why do so many students from higher ranking schools get admitted to top schools each year?

The short answer is this: colleges admit people, not high schools. However, students from higher ranking schools are more frequently admitted to top tier colleges simply because their schools have the resources to support them in all of their academic and extracurricular endeavors. It’s not that higher ranked schools receive more attention, per se; it’s just that their students are more competitive due to the atmosphere in which they were brought up. It’s socioeconomics, and I could literally write paragraphs on this topic, but I’ll just leave it there.
