I’m looking for a college with around 5000~15000 students and in a good college town. I’m not sure what I will major in because I have a variety of interests but most likely civil engineering. I’m not interested in greek life. I’m looking Northeast / Midwest / Midatlantic / South.

Other information: Mother attended UMich, Father attended Duke

Any suggestions?? Any help would be appreciated!!

Why not the obvious choices…

Vandy, Georgia Tech, Carnegie Mellon, JHU, UWash, ivies that you like, MIT, UIUC, UMich, Purdue, etc.

If you want to add the west coast, Cal, Stanford, USC, Cal Tech…

For someone like you, Purdue would likely be a safety…and probably URoch.

Do you like the techie schools like RPI?

I don’t want to go to a tech school because I would like a 50/50 (or close) male/female ratio. Also, I’m not 100% sure of my major.

You should have a shot almost anywhere…Ivies may be a bit bigger than you want (ex. Penn, Cornell, Princeton, Columbia), both of your parent’s schools both are strong in engineering, maybe also look at Johns Hopkins, Northwestern, Notre Dame, WashU.

So, if you’re not sure of your major, then any of the top schools would work…they mostly all have 50/50 male/female rations. The ivies, UWash, Duke, Vandy, UMich, UIUC, UVA, and the west coast schools.
