Tufts has an astrophysics major and two professors who are on the Prime Focus Spectrograph Team which provides access to all the PFS data.

It is located 2 miles from the second largest urban forest in the world (called the Middlesex Fells). The Tufts Mountain Club is one of the largest clubs on campus and it maintains a lodge up in the White Mountains (near Dartmouth) and provides vans for transportation. It has one of the top rock climbing teams in the country.

It has the SMFA - a top art school afilliated with the Museum of Fine Arts. The art school’s main campus is located downtown (about six miles from the main campus), next to the museum. There are a couple of new art studios on the main campus where a subset of the courses offered downtown are taught. There is a shuttle connecting the two campuses. here are several Maker Spaces on the main campus.
