What good colleges have you non-honors (which means you have taken no honors classes, AP’s or IB’s) kids gotten into? Assuming you have a high GPA and solid extracurriculars.

I’ve plugged this outfit before; once more won’t hurt. These are all great schools that look at the whole student, not just numbers.

You need to further clarify your question.

If your high school doesn’t offer honors or APs, then colleges don’t expect you to have taken them…so no penalty. Some rural, poorer, or small schools don’t offer any APs or honors .

However, if you want to get into a highly competitive college, they will look to determine whether you took the most challenging curriculum offered. If you didn’t take a good number of OFFERED challenging courses, that will be seen as a negative.

your school transcript will include a “School Profile” which will list all of the offered classes. That’s how colleges will know how challenging your curriculum choices were…and there’s a box or something that a GC marks which indicates how difficult your courses were.
