The title pretty much says it all. I’m an INTX (more INTP than INTJ) science/math nerd. I’m interested in pure science, not engineering. Which colleges would be good matches for people like me? I guess some of the obvious ones would be MIT, CalTech, Harvey Mudd, and Carnegie Mellon. Do you have any other suggestions? Thank you!

IMO, CalTech might be a better ‘fit’ for you than MIT - based on your preference for ‘pure science’. MIT has always struck me as more of a practical tech school, but that might just be me. I feel that the heavy graduate-student presence at CalTech might lend to more appropriate opportunities for research.

If you’re a guy though, beware the notorious 70/30 ratio…

And, though this goes for ANY tech school (but moreso - so I hear - at CalTech), beware the grade deflation.

…UChicago possibly? My cousin studied physics there.

You have the same personality type as my dad by the way. I’m an INFJ.

UChicago strikes me as a social studies/writing college.

I’m a girl, by the way.
