Congratulations, Itlliz! I’m assuming it’s CU at Boulder. What a gorgeous location!

Off to get the grays ‘washed’ away. Five day, 2 1/2 hours to go, but who is counting?

Keep the good news coming!

What a day for this thread! Congrats to SRandrew and welcome to posting. Also congrats to simpkin and itlliz.

prj keep us posted on the ea.

i think the reason this thread has such good news is that we learned that to find a school that fits is most important and when you find that fit it works for the student and the school. (socal that is why your D is having so many acceptances)

tonight when you have a glass of wine or water with dinner, let’s toast our thread and each other!

I’ll be toasting with dark chocolate! Congratulations to Itlliz on Colorado - so fun to get a nice surprise like that! And srandrew - congrats on Vermont! All this good news is so much fun! “B” students rock!!!

Congrats to all the recent “winners”, and good luck to everyone with mid-December ED/EA announcements. We’re waiting for Georgia Tech and (dare to dream) MIT.

Congratulations to you and your son, RVM, you’ve been waiting for this for a long long time.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome, congratulations and shared excitement! Congratulations to itlliz on Colorado! Simpkin, I am hoping for continued good news for your son. My son was also a UVM VIP, file completed 10/13, decision received 11/18. Accoridng to the UVM admissions Facebook page, all EA decisions should be received by 12/14. I hope you hear positive news soon!

srandrew - Is UVM a top choice for your S? My S1 is a junior at UVM, and S2 was recently accepted as well. S1 is very happy there.

Thank you srandrew! We actually got more good news today, with acceptances from Lycoming and Albright. So now S has some nice LACs to choose from – we never visited Albright but liked McDaniel and Lycoming very much when we toured. I’m convinced that his best chance for success in college is at an LAC so I don’t know why I keep clicking on the UVM site like a lab rat pressing the lever over and over. :)

Congrats to Ilitz and Simpkin on the latest acceptances. I think that this thread helped a lot of people indentify good options for their kids.

Good luck to those still waiting. Chardo, there’s nothing wrong with dreaming. It worked for my D1.

Mom2009, yes UVM is a top choice for my son! So glad that your S1 is happy there and S2 admitted. That’s great news. My son is very excited about his early acceptance. Let’s stay in touch… simpkin, congratulations on more good news – lots of great options for your son!

Congrats to all on the acceptances. Especially though to the person responsible for this thread! RVM!!! Mazel Tov!

Thank you so much! Tonight has been fun - kind of the experience I thought we were going to have last night! We have called and emailed every relative, posted the news on FB, etc. I think it is still sinking in that we are done on December 1 - quite a contrast to S1’s process - that dragged on into late April. Not that the fastest process is the best or that ED is right for everyone - but I think it was the right path for this teen (and his Mom)!

Also had a nice note from the Elon Hillel director today - and she is sending something to S2 - I have no idea what it is.

Mazel tov RVM and son on mission accomplished, and look at all of us you have taken on the ride with you. I know that I was more motivated to get things going early when you started this thread. Wonderful news today in this wonderful community, but again it may not be sweet all the way around and we are still here to support the bumps in the road.

Congratulations to all of you with great news today. It was fun reviewing the day’s posts tonight!

I wanted to join in saying Mazel Tov to all those who received acceptances the past few days and their families. Over the last 15 months I have been reading this thread fairly consistently and feel like I know many of the posters.

RVM–I am so happy for you. This has been a long time coming and alot of the credit goes to you. I’m looking forward to hearing about your S’s adventures freshman year.
Congrats too to Ilitz, Simkin and srandrew.

Hora! Hora! Hora! to celebrate all the acceptances received, and all those yet to come!!!

A fun Chanukah/celebration gift idea for all of your wonderful soon-to-be-college students… I bought each of my sons a t-shirt with the name of their school in Hebrew. I think the name of the website I found them at was cafe press dot com but you can probably google for it, or you can possibly find them though the Hillel site of your schools.

Itlitz, congrats on boulder admission. I know that it is a real contender for your daughter. My d also got in there today. She was not excited. While I liked it, she has her sights set elsewhere.
Hours later, I am still excited for RVM

RVM, congratulations to you and your son. You really worked hard for and with him! I know it was worth it. I am very happy for you and I look forward to more good news from other families on this journey.
